About Me

Hi! I’m Brooke Peterson.

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Human Factors Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management from Tufts University.

For as long as I can remember, I haven’t been able to fit into just one box. I am a human factors engineer who loves to draw and paint; a meticulous designer who riffs off new baking recipes—ask me how many times this has gone wrong (hint: a lot); a rambunctious storyteller who also appreciates hikes in the quiet wilderness; a collaborative team player who can just as easily spearhead independent projects; and a fashion enthusiast who geeks out over Lord of the Rings trivia (extended edition of course). Because of these contrasts and my ability to fit into so many boxes, I learn to think outside of them.

As you browse my site, you'll delve into my many academic and personal passions; I hope you learn a lot about me through this portfolio, and I urge you to reach out to me with any inquiries. I’d love to collaborate!

Enjoy!

What Past Employers Have Said

“Brooke is very skilled at what she does. She goes above and beyond to take care of things because she feels responsible, she lives by the Bottomline principles, and she cares about others and our products. She has done a phenomenal job with our native payer mobile app, which required dedication and love for the craft. The Paymode-X UX team has really pushed the needle and designed a delightful native app experience, and Brooke has been there throughout the design process. In addition, she has tirelessly answered developer, product and delivery questions in order to see this through to fruition.”

— Sandhya Pillalamarri, Senior Director of User Experience at Bottomline Technologies

“Brooke was an absolute blast to work with during her summer internship as lead UX design intern. I can’t imagine where our product design would be without all of her hard work. My fellow CTO and I were consistently impressed by her adaptability, self-sufficiency, and raw talent. I’m so glad that we will continue to work together on projects moving forward.”

— Ameet Kallarackal, CEO of Fisherman Inc.

“Brooke's work has been superlative. She has an excellent feel for engineering work, both in terms of conceiving the overall physical layout of complex systems, and then executing a comprehensive mechanical design for it. Brooke also has excellent artistic/creative abilities, resulting in her creating a high level electromechanical system design that also looks very professional.”

— Joel Libove, CEO of Furaxa Inc.

“Despite having no prior work experience in a bakery, Brooke arrived well-trained and ready to hit the ground running. She had taken several pastry and cake decorating classes over the years and truly wowed me in her interview. She picked up techniques almost immediately or with minimal instruction and was so capable that even her practice cupcakes were put on display to sell.

Brooke was eager to learn, always pushing herself to tackle the next decorating challenge and proactively asking questions along the way. In addition to being highly motivated, teachable, and a skilled decorator, she was efficient and quick.

Brooke was also an absolute joy to work with. She was punctual, responsible, reliable, and hardworking. She was friendly and outgoing and got along with everyone. In a short time, Brooke gained the admiration and respect of her co-workers with her talent and professionalism.

I am confident that Brooke would be an asset to any company.”

— Sibby Ross Thomsen, Owner of Sibby’s Cupcakery
